Sensa-Light was formed in 1981 after a friend of the two attempted to light his home and discovered a dearth of supplies and know-how. Brian and Don manufactured residential lighting for five years, then moved to commercial lighting after a highly successful job replacing the lighting system of Nick's Steak House & Pizza, a Calgary restaurant, after it burned to the ground. Working from old photographs, replicas were constructed and installed, and light was once again restored to the restaurant interior.

As they were building the company, Brian and Don realized it was more efficient to custom make luminaires for a client, rather than trying to sell an already-made product. The benefits of custom design are many, and include, at the top of the list, a perfect fit for the space and the client's complete satisfaction. |
